Buying Guide
Esio Storage Water Heater
Determine the Installation Environment
Before selecting a water heater model, it’s essential to assess if your home environment is suitable for storage water heater installation. Follow the 5 steps below:
-
Hot and Cold Piping System
Storage water heaters require a hot and cold piping system to supply hot water to your bathroom. It’s crucial to ensure that your bathroom has a hot and cold piping system with appropriate materials to prevent leaks and corrosion. The recommended piping materials are as follows: - Cold water pipes: PVC
- Hot water pipes: Stainless steel or copper pipe are recommended, PPR or PPU materials are also acceptable.
-
Mixer Taps System
When selecting a water tap, it’s crucial to choose a mixer tap that effectively mixes hot and cold water outputs. For added safety, consider a mixer tap with a built-in safety lock to prevent accidental scalding, especially for elderly and children. Users must press the unlock button to access hot water with temperatures of 40°C and above.

Water Pressure
For landed houses with lower water pressure, we recommend installing a pump to ensure adequate water pressure for storage water heater use.
*Recommended installation point: Near the water tank (or “Tangki”).
For high-rises, the water pressure is typically sufficient, eliminating the need of a water pump.
*If you experience low water pressure initially in your bathroom, please consult our water heater specialist via WhatsApp for further assistance.
-
Installation Space
Storage water heaters are typically installed above the bathroom ceiling for a sleek and aesthetic appearance. Therefore, it’s essential to consider the following details:
- The available space in the bathroom ceiling
- The size of the manhole for maintenance
Different models of Esio storage water heaters have varying space requirements. When selecting a model, it’s crucial to consider the available space in your bathroom ceiling. You can find the space requirements for each model on the product page xxx, or contact our water heater specialist via WhatsApp for professional advice.

Electricity
-
If you are currently using a storage water heater and considering replacing it with a new model:
It’s important to ensure that your existing electricity system can support continuous usage without the need for changing the electricity cables. Take note of the amperes of the initial electricity supply for water heaters, as it serves as a reference when selecting suitable heating elements for storage water heater models.
-
If you are currently using a storage water heater and considering replacing it with a new model:
- If you have never installed a storage water heater before:
- Already have a reserved electricity switch: use the initial amperes of the electricity switch as a reference when selecting the heating element of a storage water heater.
- Haven’t reserved an electricity switch yet: reserve the amperes of the electricity switch according to your preferred heating element when selecting a storage water heater.
Model Selection
- Can multiple bathrooms share a storage water heater?
- If the distance between bathrooms is not longer than 3 meters:
- With a limited budget:
Consider choosing a larger capacity storage water heater to share between multiple bathrooms and supply hot water simultaneously, to prevent issues of shower water not being hot enough.
- With enough budget:
It is recommended to install a storage water heater for each bathroom respectively
- If the distance between bathrooms are longer than 3 meter:

Size and Capacity
Quickly find the most suitable size and capacity based on your bathing time, scenario, and incorporated water tap using the table below:
For example, if using 1 bathroom with a bathing time of around 10 mins using a shower head, a capacity of 35L is recommended to ensure an adequate supply of hot water. This size can supply 1 bathroom with a shower head and provide 12 mins of hot water.

Choose Heating Element
In addition to offering various capacities of storage water heaters, Esio also provides 3 types of heating element specifications that affect heating speed: 3kW, 3.8kW, and 4.5kW. Opt for the 4.5kW heating element specification if you require faster heating.
- Installation Types
- Horizontal
- This is a common installation type in Malaysia, where the storage water heater is concealed above the bathroom ceiling. This installation method adds a sleek and clean, while providing instant hot water and prevent heat loss*.
- If the model ends with “H”, it indicates that it is a horizontal installation model.
*Heat loss may occur when the piping distance between the storage water heater and the shower head is too far, resulting in reduced hot water supply.
- Vertical
- This is an alternate installation method if the horizontal type is not suitable for your bathroom space.
- If the model ends with “V”, it indicates that it is a vertical installation model.
